The Blue Book of Basic Documents was revised to reflect the changes approved by the National Board at its September 4, 2024 meeting.
These changes include simplification of language dealing with membership dues in anticipation of the upcoming Special Session of the NCS and a typographical error.
Below is a summary of the changes made in the Credentials Section titled “MEMBERSHIP DUES AND PROCEDURES FOR REGISTRATION” on pages 23 and 24:
Previous wording:
New girl members pay $25 when they initially become members of the Movement.
New wording:
Girl members pay annual dues of $25.
Previous wording:
New adult members pay $25 when they initially become members of the Movement.
New wording:
Adult members pay annual dues of $25.

Extended year option: New girl and adult members who sign up on or between April 1-September 30 of a membership year may elect to pay $35 and their membership will start immediately and continue through the end of the following membership year. This option is available on a one-time basis for new girl and adult members only; upon renewal, such individuals pay $25 for a regular membership year.*
One-time lapsed member option: Girls and adults who were previously members but did not purchase a 2021 membership are also eligible for this extended year option for MY2021 – 2022 if they elect to renew from April 1, 2021 through September 30,2021. If renewed during that time period, they may pay $35 and their membership will start immediately and continue through September 2022. Upon renewal, such individuals pay $25 for a regular membership year.
New wording:
Extended year option: New girl and adult members who sign up on or between April 1-September 30 of a membership year may elect to pay 1.4 times the annual membership dues, of the next membership year, rounded to the nearest dollar, and their membership will start immediately and continue through the end of the following membership year. This option is available on a one-time basis for new girl and adult members only; upon renewal, such individuals pay the regular applicable membership dues for a regular membership year.
Previous wording:
Continuing members, both girls and adults, pay $25 when they renew their membership at the beginning of each membership year.
This language has been removed.
A scrivener’s error has also been corrected in Article VIII/Credentials/Section 4 of the Constitution:
Charters and other credentials shall be issued for no more than six years. Certificates of membership shall be issued for annual, lifetime, or other applicable periods. All the credentials shall bear the name of Juliette Low.
